Why have an engagement shoot?

These sessions aren’t just about the photographs (though you’ll certainly walk away with a beautiful collection of images that feel natural, editorial, and completely ‘you’). They’re also about the experience - about allowing yourselves the space to slow down and reconnect amidst the flurry of wedding preparations.
For many couples, it’s also the first time they’ve been professionally photographed together. Understandably, that can bring a few nerves — but that’s exactly what makes the engagement session so valuable. It gives you the opportunity to step in front of the camera in a more relaxed, intimate setting before the wedding itself. You’ll get a feel for how I work, how I gently direct and guide without posing you stiffly or pulling you out of the moment. And by the time your wedding day arrives, you’ll feel completely at ease — not just with me, but with the process of being photographed in a way that feels effortless and authentic.
It also allows me to get to know you better - your dynamic, your energy, the little ways you interact when you think no one’s watching.
